Earlier this month, both Madison County High School and Orange County High School held events honoring their student athletes who have signed on to continue both their education and athletic pursuits in college. The students signed their national letters of intent, declaring their future plans.



For Madison, Michelle Thompson will head to Eastern Mennonite University to play soccer; William Dickey will play baseball at Shenandoah University and Jarod Vargas-Vargas will play soccer at Rome City Institute.
In Orange, Kayla Ash will play soccer at Penn State Harrisburg; Laney Fayard, soccer at Bridgewater; Taylor Mills, soccer at Emory and Henry; Jayden Davis, soccer at Mary Baldwin; Andrew Lee, lacrosse at Bridgewater; Hudson Luke, lacrosse at Bridgewater; Wyatt Oliver, lacrosse at Hampden Sydney; Lance Westerbeck, lacrosse at Westminster; Camryn Lohr, field hockey at Eastern Mennonite; Ryleigh Gough, softball at Chowan; Adlee Shumake, softball at Randolph; Blake Pounds, baseball at Shenandoah; Connor Courtney, baseball at Ferrum; Dominic Turner, wrestling and baseball at Averett; Caiden Knaupp, football at Averett; Jeremiah Wharton, football at Averett; Seth Symns, football at Averett; Sophia Hansen, golf at Shenandoah; Cemadric Washington, track and field at Averett; and David Norman, track and field at Virginia State.
