An ATV accident claimed the lives of two Orange County men July 4.
According to the Virginia State Police, a crash involving an all-terrain vehicle occurred on the holiday at approximately 10:40 p.m. on Tower Road at the intersection with Col. Drake Lane in Orange County. A 2024 Yamaha Wolverine Side-by-Side was traveling north on Tower Road when it failed to negotiate a turn, went off the right side of the road, struck a tree and rolled over.
The driver, Jesse A. Powell, 33, of Orange and the passenger, Kelton T. Carter, 25, of Locust Grove died at the scene. Neither were wearing seatbelts. The crash remains under investigation.
