Locust Grove Middle School students will see a familiar face as principal when school starts next month.
Last week, the Orange County School Board announced the appointment of Marlene Rombach as the school’s new principal. She has served as the school’s assistant principal since 2022 and will fill the head position left vacant by Nick Sodano’s appointment as the Orange County High School Principal.
According to Orange County Public Schools officials, Rombach has demonstrated exceptional leadership, fostering a collaborative school environment and supporting instructional excellence. In addition to being the LGMS Assistant Principal, Rombach has served as a teacher, instructional coach and assistant principal in Greene County Public Schools. She holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Virginia Commonwealth University and a master’s degree in leadership from James Madison University.
“I have truly enjoyed my time serving as assistant principal of Locust Grove Middle School,” Rombach said in a press release. “It has been an honor to work alongside our dedicated staff, outstanding students and supportive community members. As I take on the role of principal, I am excited to continue serving the students, families and community of Locust Grove. I look forward to building on the strong foundation we’ve established and working together to ensure continued success for all of our students.”
