Orange County High School sports updates

Softball

The Lady Hornets split two, beating Charlottesville on the road 14-1 May 23, but falling to Fluvanna at home 3-1 Monday to finish the regular season. The girls were scheduled to host Millbrook Wednesday in the first round of regionals. 

Baseball

The Hornets beat Charlottesville May 23 on the road, 6-1, but fell to Fluvanna Monday 2-1. The team was scheduled to host Millbrook Wednesday in the first round of regionals.

Boys Lacrosse

The boys lacrosse team beat Fluvanna 11-0 Tuesday in the first round of regional playoffs. The team was scheduled to visit Monticello High School Wednesday.

Girls Lacrosse

The girls team lost to Fluvanna May 21, 15-11. 

Girls Tennis

The girls tennis team fell to Sherando May 23, 5-1. 

Track

The Hornets competed in the VHSL 4D Region Championship Tuesday. David Norman finished third in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.14 and first in the long jump with a distance of 22-08.50. He also finished first in the triple jump with a distance of 46-00.50. Brandon Testa finished second in the shot put with a distance of 52-01.00.

The VHSL Class 4 State Championship is June 6.
