Culpeper man to serve 8 years on child crimes

Enters plea agreement

A Culpeper County man will serve eight years in prison on charges involving the sexual assault of a child.

In February, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office received a report involving the sexual assault of a juvenile. Following a thorough investigation, Reginald Leroy White, Sr., 62 of Culpeper, was charged with the production of child pornography involving a child older than 15, but at least seven years younger than the suspect; indecent liberties with a child older than 15 and aggravated sexual battery by force of a child 13-14.

As part of a plea agreement, White pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated sexual battery and an amended count of possession of child pornography. On Tuesday, he was sentenced to five years with one year suspended on each charge for a total of eight years of incarceration in the Virginia Department of Corrections. Upon his release, he will be required to register as a lifetime sex offender. Per the agreement, the indecent liberties charge was nol prossed.
