Hornet Sports – Week of April 24

Orange County High School Sports for the week of April 24, 2025

Softball

The Lady Hornets beat Fluvanna Thursday 7-0 before falling to Goochland Tuesday 3-0. The team was scheduled to visit Monticello Thursday and host Riverbend Friday.

Baseball

The Hornets are on a roll. The team beat Fluvanna Thursday 12-4 on the road, before hosting Western Albemarle Friday and winning 6-5. Orange picked up another win Tuesday 5-4 and will travel to Monticello Thursday at 6:30 p.m. The team will host Riverbend Friday at 6 p.m.

Girls Soccer

The girls soccer team beat Fluvanna Thursday 8-1 at home before beating Goochland on the road Monday 5-0. The team was scheduled to host Monticello Thursday at 7 p.m.

Boys Soccer

Orange fell to Fluvanna on the road Thursday 2-0 before beating Goochland at home Monday 3-0. The team was scheduled to visit Monticello Thursday at 7 p.m.

Track

The outdoor track teams competed in the Gainesville Cardinal Classic Saturday. For the boys, David Norman finished second in the long jump with a distance of 22-1 and first in the triple jump with a distance of 46-8. Brandon Testa finished first in the shot put with a distance of 53-8. None of the girls team finished in the top three.

The Orange County Quad was scheduled for Wednesday.

Boys Lacrosse

The boys lost two recently. The team fell on the road last week to Fluvanna 11-10 and fell to Goochland at home Tuesday 14-11. The team is scheduled to visit Monticello Friday at 7 p.m.

Girls Lacrosse

The girls lacrosse team split two. Orange lost to Fluvanna at home last week 12-10, but won on the road Tuesday 22-15 against Goochland. The team will host Monticello Friday at 7 p.m.

Boys Tennis

The Hornets lost three. The team fell to Charlottesville last week 9-0 and Fluvanna 9-0. The team fell at home against Goochland 8-1 on Tuesday and will travel to Monticello Thursday at 5 p.m.

Girls Tennis

The girls tennis team lost won and picked up two. The team fell to Charlottesville at home 7-2 last week, but won at home against Fluvanna 9-0. The girls then hit the road Tuesday, beating Goochland 9-0. The Hornets were scheduled to host Monticello Thursday at 5 p.m.
