Another new leader has been announced at Locust Grove Middle School.
Earlier this summer, the Orange County School Board announced the appointment of Marlene Rombach as the school’s new principal. She has served as the school’s assistant principal since 2022, leaving a vacancy in the school’s leadership.
On Monday, it was announced that Christina Shires has been hired to fill the assistant principal role. According to Orange County Public Schools officials, Shires brings a “unique blend of instructional expertise, entrepreneurial experience and a deep passion for student success to her new position.”
Shires began her journey in education after volunteering in the classroom while raising her own children. The small business owner pursued a master’s degree in education from the University of Mary Washington and a post-master’s certification in educational leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University.
“I hope that my background in educational instruction and my passion for student success bring continued success and enthusiasm to the school community,” Shires said.
She said she’s excited to contribute to the vision and mission of Orange County Public Schools.
