The Town of Orange is pleased to announce the promotion of Pat McAloon to Director of Economic Development, recognizing his exceptional leadership and the significant impact he has made since joining the Town as Economic Development Manager in April 2026. Â

In just over three months, McAloon has become an integral member of the Town’s leadership team, helping to establish a more strategic and sustainable approach to economic development while advancing initiatives that will strengthen Orange’s economy and enhance the quality of life for residents. Â
“Pat has distinguished himself as an innovative leader who understands that economic development is about more than recruiting businesses—it’s about building partnerships, creating opportunities, and investing in the long-term success of our community,” said Town Manager Christopher H. Snider. “His passion for Orange, collaborative leadership style, and commitment to finding solutions have made him an invaluable member of our organization. This promotion reflects both his accomplishments and our confidence in his ability to lead the Town’s economic development eĆŻorts well into the future.”Â
As the owner of a local inn, McAloon brings a unique perspective to his role, combining first-hand business experience with a personal investment in the Town’s continued success. His understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing local businesses has helped shape initiatives that support entrepreneurs, attract investment, and encourage sustainable economic growth.
McAloon is pursuing grant opportunities to support downtown beautification projects, park improvements, and other community enhancements. He has worked closely with the Town’s Industrial Development Authority to develop Business Recruitment and Business Retention and Expansion (BR&E) incentive programs designed to attract new investment while supporting existing businesses.
McAloon also oversees the Town’s BluDot platform, eƯectively managing both the Open Rewards program and the Town’s business registry, creating valuable tools that strengthen engagement between the Town and local businesses.
In addition, he has taken a proactive approach to working with owners of vacant, underutilized, and blighted properties to identify redevelopment opportunities that encourage investment, revitalize key sites, and create new opportunities for businesses to establish or expand in Orange.
Known for his positive attitude and collaborative spirit, McAloon has earned the respect of colleagues, business owners, elected oƯicials, and community partners through his professionalism, creativity, and ability to bring people together in support of shared goals. His extensive network of relationships continues to create valuable partnerships that advance Town initiatives and strengthen Orange’s position as a destination for business investment.

As Director of Economic Development, McAloon will continue leading the Town’s business recruitment, business retention and expansion, redevelopment initiatives, grant development, strategic partnerships, and implementation of the Town’s long-term economic development strategy.
