A Syria resident was found deceased among the snow Tuesday.
A snowplow operator found the body of Jeffrey C. Kemper, 71, around 7 p.m. Tuesday while plowing Rag Mountain Estates located in Syria. Kemper was found lying on Red Gate Road. His Jeep was located on the side of Green Gate Road. The two roads form a fork near the subdivision’s entrance.
It’s believed the winter weather prohibited Kemper from being able to successfully navigate the hill on Green Gate by vehicle, causing him to attempt to get to his Chimney Hollow Road home by foot.
