Softball
The Lady Hornets split three over the past week. The girls beat Monticello on the road April 24, 2-0, but fell to Riverbend at home the next day, 4-3. The team picked up a win at home against Charlottesville Tuesday 14-0. The girls will host Albemarle May 1 at 6:30 p.m.
Baseball
The Hornets lost to Monticello April 24, 8-2 and to Riverbend April 25, 13-2. The team picked up momentum Tuesday at home against Charlottesville, winning 9-7. Orange will host Albemarle Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
Girls Soccer
The girls soccer team picked up two wins, beating Monticello at home April 24, 3-0 and Charlottesville on the road April 28, 2-0. Orange will travel to Albemarle May 1 for a 7 p.m. game.
Boys Soccer
Orange hit a slump, losing to Monticello 3-1 and Charlottesville 5-1. The team was scheduled to host Riverbend Wednesday after presstime and will host Albemarle May 1 at 7 p.m.
Track
The Orange County Quad meet was held April 23 with Albemarle, Charlottesville and Goochland competing against the Hornets. For the boys, David Norman and Cemadric Washington went one and two, respectively, in the 100 meter dash. Norman had a time of 11.08 and Washington a time of 11.39. The two also went one and two in the 200 meter dash; Norman with a time of 22.47 and Washington with a time of 23.14. Charles Harrison, II finished first in the 1600 meter run with a time of 4:43.09 and first in the 3200 meter run with a time of 10:22.08. Uriah Dulaney finished first in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 15.80. The 4×100 meter relay team finished first with a time of 43.90 and the 4×800 team finished first with a time of 9:33.35. Amaree Bennett finished third in the high jump with a height of 5-10. Washington finished first in the long jump with a distance of 20-8.75 and Maurice Bennett third with a distance of 20-8.5. Norman finished first in the triple jump with a distance of 46-9 and Bennett second with a distance of 40-9.5. Brandon Testa finished first in the discus with a distance of 138-9 and first in the shot put with a distance of 53-5.5. George Trolenberg finished second in the shot put with a distance of 38-5.5.
For the girls, Kavoni Jones finished second in the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.63 and second in the 200 meter dash with a time of 28.63. Kelis Jones finished second in the 1600 meter run with a time of 6:20.84. Naomi Cropp finished second in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 18.90 and Talia Ruffin finished third with a time of 21.05. Ava Washington finished first in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 53.98. The girls 4×100 meter relay team finished third with a time of 54.83. Kavoni Jones finished second in the long jump with a distance of 15-11.5. Laylianah McBrayer finished second in the discus with a distance of 82-8 and second in the shot put with a distance of 31-11.
The Hornets were scheduled to compete in the Goochland Quad Wednesday after presstime and will compete at the Dogwood Track Classic in Charlottesville Friday.
Boys Lacrosse
The boys lacrosse team split two, losing to Monticello 17-6 before beating Charlottesville at home 9-7. The team will visit Albemarle Friday for a 7 p.m. game.
Girls Lacrosse
The girls team lost to Monticello April 25, 19-5, but beat Charlottesville Tuesday, 17-7. Orange will visit Albemarle Friday for a 7 p.m. game.
Boys Tennis
The Hornets lost to Monticello last week 8-1 and to Charlottesville at home Tuesday, 9-0. The team will host Albemarle May 1 at 5 p.m.
Girls Tennis
The girls tennis team won two, beating Monticello at home April 24, 6-3 and Charlottesville Tuesday on the road, 5-4. The team will visit Albemarle May 1 at 5 p.m.
